Pic of the Week

The breeder, with whom I co-own Rhumba, wanted a litter out of her so in the fall of 2000, Rhumba was bred to a handsome red/white boy named Lazer.  She gave birth to a sweet little litter of two early in the morning on December 5, 2000.  If you want to read an amusing tale of the whelping, visit the stories page.

We called the girls Gracie (on right in above picture) and Gidget.  Rhumba was such a wonderful mother. I often laughed and told people that Rhumba would look at them as if to say, "Look, I grew my own playmates!"  As the weeks passed and the pups grew, the trio of girls became more wild--running, wrestling and playing throughout the entire house.  Hamlet, poor boy, kept his distance in those early days and actually seemed quite frightened of those crazy bundles of energy.

Gracie, now Kacie, now lives with a wonderful family in Illinois and Gidget, now Nia, has found the perfect home in Wisconsin.  I love my little girls and still keep in touch with their families.

Like Mother, Like Daughters...
